The JAECOO 7 PHEV is the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the Austrian C-SUV segment.
With 1,197 registrations from January to July 2026, it ranks second in the entire PHEV market.
(Vienna, August 28, 2026). The JAECOO 7 plug-in hybrid continues its success story in Austria. With 1,197 new registrations this year, the SUV is the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the Austrian C-SUV segment. The JAECOO 7 PHEV also holds second place among all plug-in hybrid models in Austria. Demand has remained high recently: since May, the model has recorded more than 200 new registrations for three consecutive months.
In the overall Austrian PHEV market, the JAECOO 7 PHEV, with 1,197 registrations, is just behind the leading BYD Seal U with 1,218 vehicles. Its position is even more pronounced in the C-SUV segment. Here, the JAECOO 7 PHEV leads the plug-in hybrid rankings ahead of the BMW X1 with 734 registrations. Following 240 new registrations in May, 225 were recorded in June and 212 in July. This allows the model to maintain its strong position in recent months. "The fact that the JAECOO 7 has risen to the top of the Austrian C-SUV PHEV segment in such a short time demonstrates that the brand has had a very successful start," says Wolfgang Kugler, Sales Director OMODA & JAECOO Austria. "Our dealer network has also played a significant role in this success. We now have 32 partner dealerships across Austria, offering showrooms, sales, and service."
JAECOO 7 is also on a growth trajectory internationally
The Austrian performance reflects the strong international demand for the JAECOO 7. Worldwide, 19,533 vehicles of this model range were sold in July. At the same time, OMODA & JAECOO achieved a new strong monthly figure with a total of 69,739 vehicles, increasing global sales by 148.9 percent compared to July 2025. This marks the seventh consecutive month of triple-digit growth for the brand. Sales of electrified models performed particularly well: 56,587 New Energy Vehicles were sold worldwide in July. This represents 81.1 percent of total sales and an increase of 298.6 percent compared to the same month last year. The JAECOO 7 is also now among the most sought-after models in the UK. Since its market launch in January 2025, more than 46,000 vehicles have been sold there. Since September 2025, the JAECOO 7 has consistently ranked among the top ten best-selling vehicle models in the country. Demand for the plug-in hybrid is high among both private and fleet customers.
Range test highlights long-distance capabilities
A key factor in the strong market response of the JAECOO 7 PHEV is its powertrain concept, which combines everyday electric mobility with a long range for extended journeys. A recent controlled efficiency and range test in the UK demonstrated just how far this combination can go. At the closed UTAC Millbrook test track in Bedfordshire, the model covered a total of 828 miles (approximately 1,333 kilometers) over two days. The test, conducted by Webfleet, took place on routes simulating motorway, highway, and country road conditions. The result was 11.14 percent above the WLTP total range of 745 miles specified for the UK model. The test focused on the fifth-generation Super Hybrid system, which combines electric driving and hybrid operation depending on the driving situation and is designed for high efficiency and long-distance capability.
