GAC at the Paris Motor Show
AION UT Cross celebrates its world premiere and comes to Austria in 2027
(Paris, 12. October 2026). GAC is using the Paris Motor Show 2026 as the next step in its European offensive. The focus is on the world premiere of the AION UT Cross which was developed specifically for the European market and comes in 2027 also to Austria. At the same time, the Chinese car manufacturer is giving an outlook on the wider model range for Europe with the HYPTEC HT, the GAC GS7 PHEV and the GAC GN8 HEV. New partnerships with Chelsea FC and Villarreal CF football clubs further strengthen the brand presence of GAC in the European market.
With the AION UT Cross, GAC is showing a new crossover variant of the AION UT for the first time in Paris. Designed at the Milan Design Center, the model was specifically tailored to European requirements and combines the compact dimensions of an urban vehicle with additional opportunities for leisure and travel. For the version shown in Paris, GAC cites a 60 kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 400 kilometers. The charging level can be increased from 30 to 80 percent in around 24 minutes at a corresponding fast charging station. A 14,6-inch central display and an 8,88-inch driver display, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, provide digital connectivity. „The fact that the AION UT Cross also comes to Austria in 2027 is an important next step for us in setting up GAC“, says Lars Pauly, CEO of Colmobil GmbH, official importer of the GAC brand in Austria. „The Paris Motor Show clearly shows how consistently the brand is developing the European market and broadening its product portfolio. Austria has been already playing a concrete role in this, as the construction of AION V and AION UT are finalized at Magna in Graz. This European focus creates a strong basis for the further development of GAC in Austria.“ The final technical data, configuration details and prices for the Austrian market will be announced at a later date.
HYPTEC HT, GS7 PHEV and GN8 HEV broaden the outlook for Europe
In addition to the AION V and AION UT models already offered in Austria, as well as the new AION UT Cross, GAC is showing three other vehicles in Paris that provide an outlook on the future variety of the European model range. The HYPTEC HT positions itself as a sporty-designed SUV and is shown with all-electric or range-extender drive. The all-wheel-drive range extender version achieves a system power of up to 370 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,3 seconds. With the GAC GS7 PHEV, the brand also presents the first production model on the new EV+ platform. The large SUV combines plug-in hybrid and range extender technology and enables different electrical and hybridized operating modes. The GAC GN8, in turn, expands the spectrum with a 5,26-meter-long hybrid. These three models have not yet been confirmed for Austria.
GAC becomes a partner of Chelsea FC and Villarreal CF
In parallel with the product offensive, GAC is strengthening its brand presence in European football. The new partnership with Chelsea FC was officially presented at the Paris Motor Show. The french Chelsea legend Claude Makélélé was also present at the signing ceremony in Paris. GAC thus becomes Official Global Partner of the top English club. GAC had previously launched a cooperation with the Spanish first division club Villarreal CF. As the official global automotive partner of the La Liga club, the brand is present, among other things, at games and through various communication and activation measures. With these both partnerships, GAC aims to further expand its awareness in Europe and anchor the brand more firmly in European markets.
