OMODA | JAECOO model offensive in autumn: JAECOO 5 starts in Austria, JAECOO 8 available to order now

At OMODA | JAECOO, autumn is all about new models: compact JAECOO 5 is now available as both a all-electric BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and a HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) at the Austrian partner companies. At the same time, JAECOO opens the order books for the JAECOO 8 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV). The new flagship will be offered in Austria as a five-seat comfort and a seven-seat premium. The OMODA 7 PHEV is also waiting for its Austrian premiere.
OMODA | JAECOO significantly expands its Austrian offer with the two new model series within a short period of time, covering three different electrified drive concepts: BEV, HEV, and PHEV. As a compact SUV, the JAECOO 5 positions itself as the smaller brother of the JAECOO 7 and launches in both drive options with the Comfort and Premium configurations. The JAECOO 5 Hybrid costs 27.990 euros as Comfort and 30.990 euros as Premium. „With the JAECOO 5 and JAECOO 8, we are significantly expanding our model offering within a short period of time“, says Wolfgang Kugler, Sales Director OMODA | JAECOO Austria. „From compact all-electric SUVs, over full hybrids to large plug-in hybrids with all-wheel drive, we offer solutions for different mobility demands on the Austrian market.“
JAECOO 5 BEV model: 402 kilometers range and up to 130 kW DC charging power
The compact electric SUV combines the elevated seating position, versatility, and features of an SUV with a battery-electric drive. The electric motor on the front axle produces 211 hp and provides a maximum torque of 288 Nm. The energy is delivered by a 61 kWh LFP-battery. This results in a combined WLTP range of up to 402 kilometers with energy consumption of 16,5 kWh per 100 kilometers. The JAECOO 5 BEV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,7 seconds. At an AC charging station, charging can be carried out with up to 11 kW. For short stopovers, DC charging power of up to 130 kW is available. Under the corresponding conditions, the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 28 minutes. Additional utility is provided by the vehicle-to-load function with 3,3 kW which can be used to supply external electrical devices with energy from the vehicle battery. The trunk volume is 384 liters and can be expanded to up to 1.284 liters with the back seat folded down. The braked towing capacity is up to 1.250 kilograms.
Already in its Comfort configuration, JAECOO 5 BEV features LED lighting technology, 18-inch light alloy wheels, two-zone automatic climate control, front seat heating, steering wheel heating, and acoustic double glazing at the front. The 8,8-inch driver display and 13,2-inch central screen form the digital operating architecture. Online navigation, voice control, Wi-Fi, remote app, over-the-air functionality, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto complement the connectivity features. A 540° HD panoramic camera, front and back parking sensors, seven airbags, and a wide range of driver assistance systems are standard as well.
The Premium configuration extends this base with, among other things, a heat pump and the PureGuard Leather, specifically designed for high durability and easy cleaning. In addition, there are electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, a electric tailgate, roof railing, and darkened back side windows. Multicolored ambient light, an eight-speaker SONY sound system, and 50-watt wireless smartphone fast-charging complete the additional comfort features.
JAECOO 5 HEV model: full hybrid without external charging infrastructure
JAECOO 5 Hybrid combines a 1,5-liter TGDI gasoline engine with an electric motor and a DHT transmission specifically tailored to hybrid applications. The full hybrid is therefore particularly aimed at customers who want to take advantage of an electrified drive without having to change their usual mobility and charging routines. The system power is 224 hp. The compact SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,9 seconds, with a top speed of 175 km/h. According to WLTP, combined fuel consumption is 5,3 liters per 100 kilometers, and combined CO₂ emissions are 120 grams per kilometer. With a length of 4.380 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2.620 millimeters, JAECOO 5 remains compact. The trunk volume is 314 liters and can be expanded to up to 1.214 liters with the back seat folded down.
In the Comfort configuration, JAECOO 5 Hybrid features LED lighting technology, 18-inch light alloy wheels, automatic climate control, front seat heating, steering wheel heating, an 8.8-inch driver display and a 13.2-inch central display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on board, as is a comprehensive assistance package with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning systems, and autonomous emergency braking, blind spot assist, and front and back parking sensors including a backup camera.
The Premium configuration includes faux leather seats, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, an electric tailgate, and a 540° HD all-round view camera. In addition, there is a SONY sound system with eight speakers and 50-watt wireless smartphone fast-charging.
JAECOO 8 PHEV model: new flagship available for order now
With JAECOO 8 PHEV, the brand expands its Austrian offering with a 4.82-meter-long plug-in hybrid SUV with all-wheel drive. The system power is approximately 428 hp, and maximum system torque is 580 Nm. This means that JAECOO 8 PHEV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,8 seconds. The 34,5 kWh battery enables a purely electric WLTP range of up to 134 kilometers, with a total range of up to 1.000 kilometers. Charging can be done with up to 6,6 kW AC or 70 kW DC. At a corresponding fast-charging station, the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in approximately 25 minutes.
JAECOO 8 is also at the top of the Austrian JAECOO portfolio in terms of configurations and space. The Comfort configuration already offers, among other things, 20-inch light alloy wheels, an adaptive suspension system, an electrically operated panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front and back seats, a 540° panoramic camera, a 12,3-inch central display and a SONY sound system with 14 speakers. The Premium version adds, among other things, a head-up display and the third row of seats. In Austria, the model structure is clearly defined: JAECOO 8 PHEV Comfort is offered exclusively as a 5-seater for 51.990 euros, JAECOO 8 PHEV Premium exclusively as a 7-seater for 53.990 euros. Both variants are available for ordering as form now.
