Lars Pauly will become CEO of Colmobil in Austria – The brands OMODA | JAECOO are about to launch

Vienna, September 23, 2025 – Lars Pauly, a proven automotive expert, takes over as Managing Director of Colmobil in Austria. He and his team are preparing the market entry of OMODA | JAECOO, both brands of the Chinese manufacturer Chery Auto.
Pauly looks back on more than three decades in the automotive industry. In leading international management positions at Mercedes-Benz, he played a key role in shaping the development of various business units, most recently as Director Overseas at Mercedes-Benz Vans. He then served as CEO of BYD's German operations, gaining valuable experience in building new brands in Europe. He is now bringing this combination of premium experience and pioneering spirit to the establishment of the new importer in Austria. "I'm excited by the challenge of building something completely new in Austria with all my experience," says Pauly. "We are assembling a high-performing team of local automotive experts – the blend of startup dynamism and in-depth know-how is incredibly motivating. It's a unique opportunity to actively shape the future of the automobile in Austria."
Colmobil as exclusive importer
Colmobil has been appointed the official and exclusive importer for the Austrian market. The Vienna-based company is currently establishing a nationwide sales and service network, collaborating with strategic retail partners throughout Austria. The first models, the JAECOO 7 and the OMODA 5, will debut in Austria at the end of 2025.

OMODA and JAECOO are among the most dynamic automotive brands worldwide. In just two years, the number of users increased from 50,000 (April 2023) to over 500,000 (April 2025). At the same time, their international presence nearly doubled from 21 to 41 markets – most recently including Germany and France. Both OMODA and JAECOO are brands that bring a wealth of quality and expertise to automotive manufacturing. This is one of the reasons why Chery Auto is the largest Chinese car exporter and the fourth-largest OEM in China.
