Automotive brand OMODA | JAECOO supports HTL Mödling
Updated: Oct 12
OMODA 5 HEV and JAECOO 5 BEV will be used for practical training in automotive engineering

(Mödling, 17. September 2026). Colmobil, the Austrian importer of the OMODA | JAECOO automotive brand, has handed over a fully electric JAECOO 5 and an OMODA 5 with hybrid drive to the automotive engineering department of the HTL Mödling. Both vehicles will be available to students for experiments and practical training purposes.
The JAECOO 5 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and OMODA 5 HEV were already in service at the school for presentation purposes on November 4, 2025. Both cars remain permanently in Mödling and thus receive a new function as teaching aids. They bring two different forms of electrified mobility into education at the same time. Students can learn about current electrical and hybrid technology directly on the vehicles and integrate it into practical training. „Automotive technology is changing enormously. This makes it even more important that young technicians come into contact with current drive concepts during their education and do not only know them from theory“, says Jay Plata, After Sales Director at Colmobil. „With the JAECOO 5 BEV and OMODA 5 HEV, we can provide HTL Mödling with two up-to-date vehicles that precisely support this practical program.“
Electric and Hybrid for Practical Training:
With a purely battery-electric vehicle and a hybrid model, the Automotive Engineering Department now has two different drive concepts at its disposal for training. This allows technological change in the automotive industry to be directly reflected in the classroom. For prospective automobile technicians, the use of electrified vehicles is becoming increasingly essential. Both models complement the existing educational program with up-to-date automobile technology and create an additional connection between theoretical foundations and practical training on the vehicle. The HTL Mödling welcomes the expansion of the car pool as well. „The vehicles fit perfectly into our training concept. Our students and our teachers are very happy about this“, says Michael Hanzmann, Head of the Automotive Engineering Department.
Handover at HTL Mödling:
Both cars were officially handed over to HTL Mödling on September 8, 2026. Jay Plata (After Sales Director Colmobil), Hank Wei (After Sales Director Importer Europe OMODA | JAECOO), Anita Elöpataki (Marketing Director Colmobil) as well as Deiana Salm- Reifferscheidt-Raitz (Certified Accountant Colmobil) were representing Colmobil on site. Katharina Übl-Zelenka (HTL Mödling Director), Michael Hanzmann (Head of the Automotive Engineering Department) and Thomas Soretz (Workshop Manager of the Automotive Engineering Department) accepted the vehicles on behalf of the HTL Mödling. The school announced immediately after the handover that it would use the JAECOO 5 BEV and OMODA 5 HEV for experiments and practical training in the future.
